Dogs Nip The Horns 28-27
Caprock took control early by great play from their Defense and individual efforts from Jamar Johnson & Tobias Milton. The Horns stampeded through the first half with ease and went in at halftime with a 21-7 lead. As well as Caprock was playing it seemed unlikely Borger could overcome the talented Horns. The second half started much the same way as the first… Johnson capped of another Longhorn drive with an impressive 30+ yard TD run which left 4 Borger defenders on their backs making it 27-7. However, early in the 3rd quarter Johnson goes down with cramps and that seemed to give the Dogs the momentum they needed. A great 85 yard TD run by Borger’s QB Trent Kirklin, stingy defense and miscues by Caprock’s special teams were the difference in the game. This was a hard fought game on both sides of the ball and a pleasure to watch. Great hart shown by the Bulldogs to battle back. Caprock has talent and is a very exciting team to watch. Jamar Johnson is a special player for the Horns. Cayuga’s Traylon Shead 7,000+ yard rusher and Jamar Johnson are a lot alike.
