Jaxon Shipley
If you have been looking for stats for Brownwood receiver Jaxon Shipley…well you might be waiting a while. Before the start of the season Jaxon broke his collarbone. It is a tough “break” for Shipley as well as the Lions. The 6-1, 180 (4.5) Jr TOTFM Super Teamer brought with him an outstanding sophomore year stat sheet of 63 grabs for 919 yrds 8TDs from 5A Coppell.
The Lions would love to have the extra firepower that Shipley would offer. However, under new Head Coach Bob Shipley (Jaxon’s Father), The Lions have started the season off with a Roar at 2-0.
Jaxon could return as early as October. Hopefully, he will be back in stride for the showdown with Graham. The Brownwood vs. Graham game has a great storyline. The game pits former college (Abilene Christian) teammates and roommates Bob Shipley (HC Brownwood) and Brad McCoy (HC Graham) against each other. Plus, their sons Jaxon Shipley and QB Case McCoy on opposing sidelines. I am sure the names sound familiar, as their older brothers, Heisman candidate Colt McCoy and standout receiver Jordan Shipley, are teammates at the University of Texas.
